The Connecticut Athletic Trainers' Association (CATA) strives to improve the quality of health care for athletes, patients and clients and enhance the profession of Athletic Training, through leadership, education, and cooperative efforts with other organizations and allied health professions. The CATA is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization.

Governmental Affairs Committee

Mission Statement: The Connecticut Athletic Trainers’ Association Governmental Affairs Committee (CATA-GAC) endeavors to insure the growth of the Athletic Training profession through legislative efforts.  The CATA-GAC will enhance the professional stature of Athletic Trainers as allied health care providers by working cooperatively with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. The CATA-GAC strives to be proactive in monitoring and identifying areas affecting the profession that can be addressed through legislation or government regulation.

Continue full Lobbying efforts to remain relevant and recognized with CT General Assembly
Continue to publicize AT's expertise in Concussion management and the CT Concussion Law
